Coach Geno Abney is a visionary leader with over two decades of transformative experience in youth basketball. Drawing from a distinguished military background and robust business acumen, Coach Geno is renowned for his unwavering dedication to developing young athletes into well-rounded individuals both on and off the court.

With a foundation rooted in military discipline, Coach Geno combines strategic vision with a deep passion for sports to inspire athletes to reach their full potential. As the founder of AYG Athletics, Coach Geno has cultivated a thriving organization that impacts the lives of over 250 young athletes. His leadership extends beyond coaching, encompassing program development, strategic partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.

Beyond his coaching role, Coach Geno is a devoted husband and father of three, deeply committed to mentoring young individuals to become future leaders. Outside of basketball, Geno enjoys spending quality time with his family, pursuing his passion for graphic design through his business, ABTouch LLC, and supporting causes that promote youth empowerment and education.

With a background spanning several years at Pick Up USA in Coppell, TX, Daniel has served as both a referee and youth basketball trainer. His role includes overseeing recreational games, ensuring adherence to rules, and conducting training sessions that significantly enhance players' skills. At Grapevine Fieldhouse in Grapevine, TX, Daniel excels as a youth basketball trainer and coach, focusing on player development and implementing effective game strategies that have led to success in numerous local tournaments. Daniel's passion for basketball and commitment to player growth make him a valuable asset in the development of young athletes. His coaching philosophy centers on skill enhancement, strategic training, and fostering a love for the game that extends beyond the court. Daniel Porter is dedicated to empowering youth players to achieve success, both in basketball and in life.

Coach Reed began his basketball journey in St. Louis, MO, where he excelled as a varsity player at Parkway South Senior High School, leading the MSHSAA in steals in 2004. Relocating to Dallas, TX in 2019, Coach Reed's passion for coaching ignited while training and coaching his son, witnessing his growth and the positive impact he could have on other young athletes striving to elevate their game.
Known for his infectious energy and deep commitment to player development, Coach Reed brings a wealth of experience and a genuine love for motivating young athletes to achieve greatness on and off the court. His coaching philosophy emphasizes not only skill enhancement but also instilling confidence and resilience in his players.
Coach Reed is dedicated to fostering a supportive and competitive environment where every player has the opportunity to reach their full potential, embodying the values of teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.

Coach Gipson is a dedicated basketball coach with over five years of experience developing athletes both on and off the court. Known for her skill focused and discipline based coaching style, she emphasizes fundamentals, consistency, and mental toughness in every training session. Alexus is certified in CPR and concussion management, ensuring player safety is always a top priority. Her commitment to excellence and structured coaching approach continues to make a lasting impact on the athletes she works with.

Coach Rodney Mason brings a wealth of leadership, strategic planning, and mentoring experience to AYG Athletics. With a strong professional background in organizational development and team building, Coach Mason has spent years fostering environments of growth, accountability, and success. His ability to connect with athletes and guide them both on and off the court stems from his expertise in coaching, conflict resolution, and personal development.
Coach Mason’s philosophy centers on discipline, teamwork, and a positive mindset. He believes that basketball is more than a game; it’s an opportunity to develop life skills such as perseverance, communication, and leadership. His coaching style emphasizes fundamentals, player accountability, and creating an inclusive and motivating environment for all athletes.
Beyond the court, Coach Mason has experience coordinating events, supervising programs, and mentoring individuals through various roles, including his work as a Building Supervisor and Esports Coordinator with the YMCA. His ability to lead diverse teams and create impactful experiences makes him an asset to AYG’s mission of empowering youth through sports.
When he’s not coaching, Coach Mason enjoys fitness training, gaming, and giving back to the community. He is committed to helping every athlete reach their full potential while having fun and building confidence.

Coach Stewart
Strength and Conditioning Manager / Team Coach
Coach Justin Stewart is a passionate and results-driven leader dedicated to developing athletes both on and off the court. With years of experience as an educator, personal trainer, and strength coach, Coach Stewart combines his deep knowledge of exercise physiology with a proven ability to inspire athletes to achieve their goals. He currently serves as a Special Education Teacher and Strength Coach with Coppell/Wichita Falls ISD, where he designs and implements comprehensive training programs that improve performance, reduce injuries, and build confidence in young athletes.
Before his current role, Coach Stewart owned and operated Just-In Time Fit LLC, managing every aspect of fitness center operations and creating individualized strength and conditioning programs tailored to each client’s needs. He also served as a Personal Training Manager at Anytime Fitness, where his leadership ensured outstanding results and an engaging, supportive training environment.
Coach Stewart holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville and is continuing his education with two advanced degrees: a Master’s in Administration Leadership and a Master’s in Professional Psychology at Angelo State University. He is a certified personal trainer, CPR/AED certified, and holds certifications in Special and Physical Education EC-12. His leadership extends beyond the gym, having served as CEO/Co-Founder of The CHANGE Initiative, and contributing to youth mentorship and wellness programs that make a lasting impact in the community.
With a philosophy rooted in discipline, resilience, and personal growth, Coach Stewart is committed to helping every athlete unlock their full potential developing strong players and even stronger leaders for life.

Coach Brown
Strength and Conditioning / Skills Manager
Coach “KB” Brown brings passion, excitement, and a love for the game! She not only brings a wealth of knowledge of the game but also 8 years of certified fitness and strength training as a certified and license personal trainer. Coach Brown played all 4 years of high school at Redemptorist High School of Baton Rouge, LA inclusive of girls AAU all throughout her high school tenure that won local championships 3 of her 4 years. She later played for one year as a walk-on for Prairie View A&M University.
Coach Brown specializes in transforming athletes into top-tier competitors across basketball, track, and football. With a deep understanding of strength, conditioning, and performance enhancement, she tailors rigorous training programs designed to improve power, speed, agility, endurance, and skills. Her expertise extends beyond just physical training by incorporating mental resilience and strategic game preparation, to ensure athletes are not only fit but also mentally sharp.
Coach Brown’s passion for the game and dedication to helping young student athletes develop their playing skills as well as their character, are what make her asset to the program.
